In Honor of Bach’s Birthday, a Gift for Listeners
For all celebrants of Johann Sebastian Bach’s 327th birthday (and all Bach lovers, for that matter), on Wednesday, a record label is offering a promotional gift: nine hours of Bach’s music for 99 cents on Amazon, available through Friday. The company, eOne Music – the label formerly known as Koch – says it is selling the downloads to publicize its plans to reissue recordings by the Bach Guild, a label started in 1948 to make the composer’s works more widely available. EOne Music said it also planned new recordings.
