A new Leaf for more environmental car travel

s part of our environmental sustainability strategy and work to reduce carbon emissions, the University has moved to a zero emissions electric model for day-by-day use around the city.

Our two litre diesel engine car has been exchanged for an ex-demonstration Nissan Leaf in a move which is both environmentally and financially more sustainable.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Martin Hall, said, “The trade-in is almost cost neutral given that it's a former demonstration vehicle and will cost much less to run. It is consistent with our emphasis on energy and efficiency. While we should all use public transport wherever possible, this electric car marks the importance we place on our Carbon Emissions Plan and its objectives".
