The most powerful in Poland supercomputer facilitates experiments in CERN

The most powerful in Poland supercomputer (still under development within the framework of the CIŚ project) will soon be used to process some CERN experiment data. Resources set aside at the disposal of the LHCb experiment include 300 TB storage, a computational cluster and some dedicated software.

Computational infrastructure developed in NCBJ within the framework of the CIŚ (Świerk Computing Centre) project will be used to process experimental data acquired at the “Large Hadron Collider beauty” (LHCb) experiment. Currently 63 teams from various laboratories all over the world (including NCBJ) comprising more than 600 scientists are involved in the experiment.
