Auto Test magazine put nine summer tires for SUVs through
their paces in three different disciplines: over rough terrain and on wet and
dry roads. Each of the three disciplines was weighted equally. The chosen tire
size, 235/65 R 17, fits a large number of SUVs and in this case the test
vehicle was an Audi Q5. When the test runs were completed, the
ContiCrossContact UHP emerged as best in test with an overall rating of “highly
recommended”. Its strongest points were “shortest stopping distances in the wet
and dry, precise steering response and respectable off-highway performance.”
